Michelangelo Macchi was born in Lugano (Switzerland) in 1968. After having lived in Rome, Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo, he attended Art School followed by the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, completing both with top marks. During his studies he worked with G.P.R. Architects for one year and then, in 1991, accepted Piero Pinto’s offer to run the achitecture department of his Interior Design Office in Milan.

This activity lasted, with a couple of breaks (one year in Paris working for A.R. Studio in 1995 and one year in Jeddah working for Studio65), from that time until 2011 and has involved the design of many boutiques and “Made in Italy” retail stores, both in Italy and world wide, as well as important Houses, leading Macchi to an high level of team work skill and to an high international experience.

In 1996 he won the Architectural Competition for the New Primary School of Binasco (Milan) with two young collagues and therefore he had to split his professional practice on three different levels: continuing his own career as free lancer Architect, continuing the collaboration with Piero Pinto and working with his nephew Giancarlo Alhadeff, as Senior Architect for Studio Alhadeff.

As personal interest, after a two years working at the Milan Polytechnic as a Museography assistant to Prof. Fredy Drugman, he has always kept in mind that the Architect’s task is also to give back to the Community the education received. For this reason, beside his every day activity for private clients, he has participated to several National and International Competitions of public interest, for Museums and Educational Buildings.
